About

I’m Laura, the designer and maker of Kinley Jewellery. From my studio in West Oxfordshire I handcraft every element of my work using traditional tools and techniques. Driven by a passion for the craft and a love of jewellery I work on each piece with great care and meticulous attention to detail. I believe that jewellery should be a reflection of your unique style and individuality and each piece you wear holds a story. At Kinley jewellery the story starts with me as a little of myself goes in to each jewel. I am striving for artistry and to leave an authentic sense of a maker’s hand on the work, away from the uniformity of mass production. My training with City and Guilds in London honed my design and practical skills and I channel my creativity into crafting pieces that explore unique contemporary style whilst staying true to timeless classic design shapes.

In 2016 I entered the Goldsmiths Awards  for Design and Craftsmanship and was the winner of a prestigious Gold award for the innovative use of wire. This is where my distinctive Grid style was born.

I am a proud freeman of the Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers, a historic Livery company that champions the ancient technique of making wire by hand and those jewellers and needleworkers who put this into contemporary practice.

In a commitment to running a more sustainable and ethical business all pieces are made using recycled gold. Diamonds and gemstones are bought from sources supplying only fair and ethically mined stones or repurposed stones.

I am delighted to take commissions for bespoke pieces and can incorporate your existing stones where appropriate. Please do get in touch if you’d like to know more or chat about a specific piece or project.
